CAPTAIN MORTEKAI
Represents mercantile trade, voyages, ambition, cartography and exploration
A valiant and exploring pirate captain, Mortekai found so many treasures and secrets, he himself became an Ascended without the aid of other Numen. The Lizardfolk captain is rumoured to have been the first mortal to ever complete a map of Entrellia and to travel to each and every corner. The completion of his famed map is said to be what awarded him his Ascension, as the day he stepped foot on the shore he had left, was the very same day he Ascended.
Commonly misconstrued, Captain Mortekai in the current era of 6C is no longer a Scaylid, but in fact a golden snake that pilots the Numen's old mortal body. After the exhaustions of his travels and his unassisted Ascension, the captain mysteriously had complications with his immortality, and his body continued to decay and age naturally, despite supposedly being a Numen. Not wanting to meet an early end and with vast, new found wealth and power, the pirate captain would commission and drink an extremely expensive form of cooled magical liquid gold, sipped from an encrusted chalice etched in Runic. Eventually this habit would lead to his rebirth as a golden snake. His appearance now is plenty less charming, but his joyful personality still radiates through and his passion for adventure, treasure and exploration has never faultered.
